Rugby 7s, or seven-a-side rugby, is a fast-paced game where stamina, strength, and finese are absolute prerequisites to stepping on the pitch. A typical 7s player must be able to endure 14 minutes of non-stop sprinting, tackling, and ball handling with little-or-no time for active recovery.
Some of the greatest seven-a-side athletes can be compared to NFL wide receivers, or NBA guards - quickness and the ability to use misdirection is key to being an effective 7s player. But a seven's player must also have excellent defensive skills, i.e. must be able to perform open field tackles.

Seven-a-Side Players
The pitch (field) is the same as a regulation sized Union pitch - relatively equivalent to the size of a soccer pitch. Pictured below is the field at the Home Depot Center, in LA (home to the US IRB 7s tournament).
